The Scanlon Foundation was established in 2003 as a 501(c)((3) nonprofit organization that supports and carries out the charitable work or the Scanlon Network. Such work includes:
  • Creating Scanlon books and articles
  • Conducting Scanlon Related Research
  • Conducting Scanlon training
  • Internships with Scanlon Companies
  • Accepting donations and gifts

Projects the Foundation supported in 2006
  • A study of Hoshin Kanri (management by planning or policy deployment). This study will be one of the largest and most comprehensive studies of Hoshin practices. The research is being conducted by Dr. Michael Moore of Michigan State University and Dr. William Mothersell of Grand Valley State.
  • A Scanlon anthology. Coedited by Larry Spears (CEO of the Greenleaf Center for Servant Leadership) and Paul Davis (President of the Scanlon Leadership Network). The working title is EPIC Leadership: Scanlon, Servant Leadership and Change. The book will bring together in one place classic and contemporary articles on Scanlon thought and practice.
  • Support for the 2006 Scanlon Annual Conference on Servant Leadership held May 1-3, 2006, in Kalamazoo, Michigan.
  • Obtained the rights to "Principle Based Participative Management" by Terry VandeWater
  • Fundraising to provide a paid Scanlon Internship experience.

Projects the Foundation is engaged in during 2007

  • Saved the writings of John Donnelly
  • Scanned the writings of John Donnelly to preserve them.
  • Supported the 2007 Scanlon Annual Conference on the Leadership Roadmap
  • Supported the podcasting interviews of the Scanlon Stewards
  • Supported the Filene Institute on a Conference for Credit Union Leaders that will feature Watermark.
