The Scanlon Leadership Network/Foundation offers two different types of on-line courses.
The first option is Scanlon University, which offers computer aided instruction in Lean, Lean Office, Six Sigma, Evaluating Outsourcing and Microsoft software applications. Students are able to register on-line, pay tuition on-line, complete the course at anytime, take tests on-line and receive a certificate of completion. There are no human instructors involved.
The second option is Scanlon "Moodle" on-line courses. These courses are taught by instructors that use the computer to facilitate the course and to provide a "virtual" meeting place for the students. Students upload and download materials, chat with instructors and other students, and take tests on-line. The courses in this section are offered at certain times and are completed at times designated by the instructors. Registration is completed by contacting the Network office. Continuing Education credits can be obtained for completing these courses. We recently offered courses in Greenbelt six sigma and Supervisory skills using the "Moodle" software.
ATTENTION MEMBERS: Moodle on-line courses are temporarily off-line due to a malicious hacker. We are migrating our these courses to a more secure server.
Both types of courses offer the opportunity to increase competence with more flexibility and at less costs than traditional courses.
Select the type of on-line instruction to the left under the on-line training tab.
